257. Came out to my mother about being Demisexual…
This was the best way I could describe it to her so she’d understand— and after, she admits that this is how she views herself, too! I felt really good about coming out ^-^ALL OF THESE MEN
But this isn’t an imaginary identity made up to slut shame other women or anything
NOPE
not at all
why would anyone ever think that
didn’t everyone know? hetero-sexysexuals NEVER form close emotional bonds with the men they have sex with. NOPE NEVER. they just skip right from meeting men to having sex with them, like the SEXY SEXUALS that they are. those silly sluts, right???
/sigh
and people wonder why the ace community is accused of slut-shaming, jfc
And then he follows it up with, “Of course I knew it was a myth as soon as I heard it. :)”
Now, I can handle to a degree the “I thought you were asexual” bit. If someone is unaware of what the term in fact means, it is alright to ask questions in an effort to clear up genuine confusion. But true misunderstanding or not, the second you call it a “myth”, that is the point at which I say—dispensing with all decorum here—shut the fuck up.
ugh yes i hate this
whenever I express interest in a girl, it apparently invalidates my asexuality. but if i happen to mention an asexual-related thing in passing, i’m apparently not a lesbian anymore?? BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY THE TWO THINGS ARE MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE AND NO ASEXUAL PERSON CAN BE GAY TOO. V_V
i’m seriously surprised that almost no one has commented on the unfortunate implications of this picture.
i mean
people have literally used variations of this argument to try to tell me that i wasn’t a lesbian and that i was just ~restrained by gender~ or some shit.
no. not everyone is pansexual and trying to imply that people are stupid for “labeling themselves” and not being attracted to every gender isn’t cool.
